In 1959, the US Department of Defense turned to Alpha Industries to create new versions of classic military jackets for its soldiers. Alpha Industries was tasked with designing jackets that would suit the different requirements and conditions in which soldiers would operate. As a result, Alpha Industries became one of the main suppliers of jackets for the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Army, and Marine Corps.
