Veja Venturi
A chunky sneaker that combines trendy design, functionality and an eco-friendly footprint into one. The upper is made from flannel made from 30% recycled plastic bottles and 70% recycled cotton, while the suede comes from leather scraps from a farm in Rio Grande do Sul. The iconic V on the shoe is made from rubber and rice waste, the midsole is made from sugarcane, the outsole combines Amazonian rubber with rice waste and the insole is made from sugarcane and recycled plastic bottles. If anyone claims that sustainable yet trendy footwear is impossible, recall the Veja Venturi - a perfect example of an eco-friendly pair of shoes for everyone.
Materials
Leather: A traditional natural material obtained by processing animal skins, valued in the shoe and haberdashery industry for its inimitable combination of durability, breathability and aesthetics. Thanks to its unique fibrous structure, the leather is able to adapt perfectly to the anatomy of the human body, ensuring high user comfort. It is a "living" material that breathes naturally, absorbs moisture and acquires a characteristic patina over time. Depending on the processing method (smooth leather, suede, nubuck), it offers different degrees of resistance to external influences and different surface textures.
Textile: Textile uppers are a lightweight and highly breathable upper construction solution that uses woven or knitted structures of natural and synthetic fibres. This type of upper is valued in the footwear industry for its extraordinary ability to adapt to the shape of the foot, minimising the formation of blisters and ensuring high user comfort. Thanks to the porous structure of the material, textile uppers allow for efficient heat and moisture dissipation, which is crucial for maintaining an optimal microclimate even under increased physical stress. In addition, modern textile processing technologies allow reinforcement zones to be integrated directly into the knit, achieving an ideal balance between stability and flexibility.
Rubber: It is one of the most widely used materials for the production of soles due to its high mechanical resistance and durability. The main advantage of rubber soles is their excellent grip (traction) on different types of surfaces, which minimises the risk of slipping. The material is naturally flexible, waterproof and effectively absorbs shocks during walking. Depending on the compound, the rubber can be either soft for better contact with the ground or hard for maximum abrasion resistance on rough terrain.
is used for products that are made using more environmently-friendly proceses which uses less water, energy and chemicals. Products with international certifications such as bluesign®, the 100 standard by OEKO-TEX® and MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX® are placed under this label.
