Vans Old Skool

Vans Checkerboard - the chessboard plays first fiddle! Models like Slip-On, Old Skool, Sk8-Hi and other well-known silhouettes are presented in the iconic checkerboard pattern. This design has its roots in the late 1970s when Steve Van Doren, son of brand founder Paul, observed skaters creatively painting the white soles of their Slip-On shoes with black marker to create the popular checkered pattern. The Checkerboard collection draws inspiration from 20th century skate pop culture and became legendary after the 1982 premiere of the movie ""Golden Times at Ridgemont High"" where the main character played by Sean Penn wore these very boots. Plus, with their clever two-tone design, they're easy to mix and match with a variety of outfits, so find your pair here at Queens!

An immortal legend with an iconic stripe - Vans Old Skool

There are few sneakers as versatile and iconic as the Vans Old Skool. Originally known as the "Style 36", this model first appeared in 1977 and changed the world of skateboarding and fashion forever. It was the first ever Vans model to feature the legendary side stripe - the so-called "Jazz Stripe" that every streetwear fan will recognise today. If you're looking for shoes that never go out of style and go with everything in your wardrobe, the Old Skool is a safe bet.

Durability tested by concrete and time

It's not just the design that makes the Vans Old Skool stand out, it's the construction. The combination of durable canvas and suede in the most stressed areas (toe and heel) ensures that the shoes can withstand the rigours of use - whether on the skateboard or in everyday walking around town. Of course, the iconic waffle-patterned rubber sole offers perfect grip and stability. A padded collar around the ankle then keeps you comfortable, even if you spend all day in them.

A versatile piece for your personal style

The Vans Old Skool is the definition of effortless style. They're the shoe for rebels, artists, skaters and minimalists alike. They look great with ripped jeans, but also with clean chinos or summer dresses. It's a piece that blurs the lines between generations and subcultures. Treat yourself to a shoe that made California culture history and become part of the Vans family. Because you can never go wrong with an Old Skool in your shoe closet.
