Lacoste is a French luxury sports fashion company founded in 1933 by tennis player René Lacoste and entrepreneur André Gillier. The company sells a wide range of products, including clothing, footwear, sportswear, eyewear, leather goods, perfumes, towels, and watches. The Lacoste brand is easily recognisable by its iconic green crocodile logo.
The story behind this logo is quite interesting. René Lacoste, the founder of the company, earned the nickname "The Crocodile" from the American press after he bet his team captain on a suitcase made of crocodile skin. His tenacity on the tennis court further cemented the nickname among French fans. Lacoste has a rich history and has become a global brand with more than 1,100 locations worldwide.
In addition to its products, Lacoste embodies a sporting spirit that continues to guide the brand's decisions. The combination of creativity and tradition results in a timeless elegance that has made the Lacoste brand an icon that transcends generations. Whether you're on the tennis court or just expressing yourself through fashion, Lacoste encourages movement and self-expression in everyone's life.
